Offshore buoys were reporting 8-second wave periods with seas around 2 ft and a mean southerly wave direction early this morning. These conditions are expected to continue ushering a high risk of rip currents at all local beaches through at least this weekend. The afternoon seabreeze will also reinforce the onshore flow. Beachgoers are urged to be aware of what color beach flags are flying. Reminder: double red means that the water is closed to the public, but the beach remains open.
