Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
457 AM EDT Wed Jun 12 2024

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

Early this morning, the buoy located 88 miles south-southeast of
Apalachicola was observing waves as high as 4 feet with a dominant
period of 7 to 8 seconds, along with a mean wave direction from the
south- southeast. These waves will be affecting Forgotten Coast
beaches this morning, and they should spread to Emerald Coast beaches
by this afternoon. As a result, the forecast rip current risk today
is upgraded to a high risk.

From Thursday through this weekend, moderate to fresh southeast
breezes over the distant southeast Gulf will continue to send
sufficiently energetic surf to easily support a high risk of rip
currents along Emerald Coast and Forgotten Coast beaches.
