...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT
FOR WESTERN GEARY...RILEY...WESTERN POTTAWATOMIE...SOUTHEASTERN
WASHINGTON...EAST CENTRAL CLAY AND SOUTHWESTERN MARSHALL COUNTIES...

At 540 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles north of Green to 4 miles northeast of Riley
to near Ogden, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Manhattan, Junction City, Blue Rapids, Ogden, Grandview Plaza, Riley,
Waterville, Milford, Leonardville, Olsburg, Randolph, Green, Keats,
and Tuttle Creek Lake.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 295 and 306.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for north central
and northeastern Kansas.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Wind gusts with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
