At 1242 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mainly in eastern
Oklahoma east of highway 75, also west of a Eufaula to Hugo line and
also south of I44 and east of the Muskogee Turnpike. They were most
widespread and heaviest in Nowata, Craig and Wagoner counties in
Oklahoma. The precipitation was in the Tulsa area. Movement was to
the east at around 20 mph. The average amount where it rained last
hour was around one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of two
to two and a half inches. Coverage and intensity remained about the
same as last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for early this afternoon,
cloudy, occasional showers and thunderstorms with temperatures 69 to
77 degrees and north winds up to 10 mph shifting to the south.
