At 942 AM, National Weather Service radar detected scattered
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally in
northwest Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma south of I44. Thunderstorms
with locally heavy rain were located in Latimer county in Oklahoma
and Crawford and Franklin counties in Arkansas. The precipitation
was in the Fort Smith area. Movement was to the south at around 35
mph. The average amount where it rained last hour was around one
half of an inch with maximum amounts of two to two and a half
inches. Coverage decreased during the last hour. The Tulsa area
forecast for late this morning and into this afternoon, partly
sunny, temperatures 69 to 80 increasing to 80 to 89 degrees with
south winds 5 to 10 mph.
