Thunderstorm chances spread southward across eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas today as a frontal boundary moves into and
through the region. Limited to locally elevated severe potentials
are forecast along and near the front through late afternoon, with
large hail and locally damaging wind the main threats. The
greater potential for storms and also severe potentials are across
far eastern Oklahoma as well as northwest Arkansas. Locally heavy
rainfall is also a concern with the stronger storms. Behind the
frontal passage, gusty northerly winds are forecast across
northeast Oklahoma.

Thunderstorm chances remain overnight tonight for mainly
southeast Oklahoma into western Arkansas while the frontal
boundary sags south through region. Severe potentials are expected
to weaken through the evening hours.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Shower and thunderstorm chances continue across southeast Oklahoma
Monday morning and should taper off Monday afternoon once an
elevated frontal boundary moves south of the Red River. Additional
shower and thunderstorm chances return Tuesday into Wednesday with
another weak area of low pressure sliding southeast through the
Southern Plains. At this time, the greater thunder potential looks
to be Tuesday night into Wednesday across southeast Oklahoma.
Severe weather is not anticipated Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cooler conditions spread into the region today behind the frontal
boundary and should remain common for the first half of the week.
A warming trend and a return of more humid conditions are forecast
for late week into next weekend.
