099 FXUS64 KLZK 130436 AAA AFDLZK Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Little Rock AR 1136 PM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (This evening through Friday) Issued at 219 PM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024 19z surface observations once again indicate near normal temperatures across the forecast area. Scattered CU were forming over the western half of the forecast area. During this period, temperatures, and associated heat stress will climb each day. Late in the period, MCS activity is expected to form to the northwest of the forecast area, then move southeast. At this time, forecast signals indicate that this activity will dissipate before reaching northern portions of the state. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Wednesday) Issued at 219 PM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024 H500 ridging will expand northeast over the area from Friday into the weekend. This will provide well above normal temperatures along with little to no chance of rain. Even as temperatures are expected to climb into the mid to upper 90s F across the area Fri-Sun, Td values will remain below 70 F. While this will lead to uncomfortable conditions and associated HeatRisk values of 2-3, heat indices may remain below advisory criteria for most locations through the period. Conditions will "improve" into early next week as mid-level ridging moves east of the area. This will provide an increased supply of tropical moisture and an associated increase in cloud cover and diurnally driven showers and thunderstorms. While Td values will be higher, temperatures will be a few degrees cooler through the end of the period. && .AVIATION...
