.DISCUSSION...
Humidity recovery overnight will be fair in and around the fire.
This will set the stage for another day of critically low minimum
relative humidity in the single digits. Winds will strengthen
compared to the previous day, becoming southerly in the afternoon and
peaking between 1400 and 1700 MDT. A backdoor front surging westward
from the eastern plains will bring a secondary burst of winds in the
overnight hours, peaking between 2100 and 0100 MDT. South to
southeast winds will reach gusts of 30 mph during this time.
Inversions will be unlikely to form overnight in this environment and
any that do form will likely be very shallow. An influx of moisture
will accompany the front, allowing for overnight recovery to reach
near excellent quality. This moisture will bring min RH into the
upper 20 percent range and may give rise to isolated to scattered
showers with embedded thunderstorms during the afternoon. Winds on
Thursday will remain elevated with southeasterly gusts in the
afternoon reaching up to 40 mph.
