.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will gradually build in today returning dry conditions
to the area. Light north to northeasterly winds will eventually
become southeasterly late today and into tonight. Rain chances will
be on the increase from west to east late tonight into Thursday with
additional chances persisting into Friday. Lowest relative humidity
values today will be found across north central South Dakota with
afternoon readings falling into the 30 to 35 percent range.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Thursday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
