.DISCUSSION...

A weak system crosses through the region early this morning
supporting generally light showers and weak thunderstorms. That
clears mid day, with another weak system supporting additional
thunderstorms for north central South Dakota later this evening.
Storms up that way will be isolated and fast moving with little
additional moisture overall. Temperatures will be on the increase
with more sunshine today, with highs well into the 80s west of the
James valley and mid and upper 70s across northeast South Dakota,
resulting in afternoon humidity in the 50 to 70 percent range.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Sunday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
