386 FNAK53 PAFG 212322 FWFAFG Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 322 PM AKDT Fri Jun 21 2024 .DISCUSSION...Near Red Flag conditions are expected to continue this afternoon in the Yukon Flats NE of Fort Yukon with highs in the upper 70s, RH near 25%, and winds around 10 mph. Near Red Flag conditions are expected again tomorrow for the area NE of Fairbanks with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s, RH slightly drier than today, and winds around 7-10 mph. Sunday will again be hot and dry but with less wind. Expect the hot and dry conditions to continue well into next week especially in the eastern Interior as a strong ridge establishes itself over the area. Widely scattered thunderstorms in the Fairbanks area will diminish later this afternoon as dry air continues to filter in from the northeast. This evening, widely scattered thunderstorms along the thermal trough can be expected from Shungnak south to McGrath and Shageluk and east across the Alaska Range to Delta Junction to the Alcan Border. Saturday expect isolated thunderstorms across the Alaska Range, over the Fortymile Country, and northeast of Bettles. On Sunday isolated thunderstorms will be west of Nenana and NE of Livengood.
