283 WGUS81 KAKQ 180502 FLSAKQ Flood Advisory National Weather Service Wakefield VA 102 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 VAC085-087-760-180700- /O.NEW.KAKQ.FA.Y.0109.240918T0502Z-240918T0700Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Hanover VA-Henrico VA-City of Richmond VA- 102 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, City of Richmond, Hanover and Henrico. * WHEN...Until 300 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 102 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Richmond, Mechanicsville, Highland Springs, Virginia Union University, East Highland Park, Lakeside, Glen Allen, Laurel, Chamberlayne, Atlee, Montrose, Fair Oaks, Solomons Store, Longdale and Dumbarton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
