A strong microburst with estimated wind speeds of 60-85 mph winds,
and an estimated peak wind of 95 mph, occurred between Groton/West
Dryden in Tompkins County NY, and ended north of Marathon in
Cortland County NY, on the evening of June 23rd. Multiple medium
to large trees were observed being uprooted or snapped, as well as
some tree damage resulting in property damage. A tree house
collapsed due to multiple large trees snapping and falling,
resulting in 1 reported injury. A small metal roof gazebo was also
lofted 30 feet away from a house.
