Issued by NWS Denver/Boulder, CO
Issued by NWS Denver/Boulder, CO
856 FNUS55 KBOU 252100 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 300 PM MDT Tue Jun 25 2024 .DISCUSSION...Tonight and Wednesday...High pressure over the Central/Southern Rockies and Desert Southwest will continue through Wednesday with temperatures rising into the low to mid 90s across the plains below 7,000 ft. RH should remain above 30%, and scattered thunderstorms (20-40% chance) are possible during the afternoon hours. A storm or two could be severe across the far eastern plains of Colorado. In the mountains and mountain valleys, RH will be lower (20-25%), but generally light winds until thunderstorms form mean fire wx concerns are very low. Thunderstorm chances in the high country range from 30-60%, with the main impacts gusty winds to 40 mph and small hail. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday night through Sunday...Scattered thunderstorms, some with locally heavy rain will continue across North Central and Northeastern Colorado Thursday evening. Thunderstorm coverage will decrease Friday onward, with greatest coverage across the Front Range Mountains, foothills and Palmer Divide. Temperatures will remain above normal through most of the forecast period, with slightly cooler temperatures Friday and Saturday. Winds will be light overall, although slightly breezier conditions can be expected in the high country Thursday and Friday. No critical fire weather conditions are expected. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
