477 FXUS61 KCLE 161925 AFDCLE Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Cleveland OH 325 PM EDT Mon Sep 16 2024 .SYNOPSIS... The influence of high pressure will persist across the region through the week as the remnants of Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight pass to the east Tuesday night into Wednesday. && .NEAR TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/... Quiet and mostly dry weather is expected through the near term period as the region remains under the influence of high pressure. The remnants of Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight will pass just to the east of the area Tuesday night into Wednesday which could kick off a few isolated rain showers along and east of the I-71 corridor where surface convergence is largest. Better precipitation coverage is possible closer to the PA border where available moisture becomes more favorable. Otherwise, we`ll be seeing an increase in mid to upper-level cloud cover from the east and southeast tonight through Tuesday. Highs are expected to remain above average in the upper 70s to lower 80s with slightly higher humidity levels as well. && .SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/... The weather pattern will remain relatively quiet for the middle and end of this week. A weakening upper level low pressure system will be near the southern Appalachian Region on Wednesday. There will be high and mid level cloudiness over our area from this low pressure system. This system may throw back some limited moisture from east to west into eastern Ohio for the middle of the week. Overall, there will be alot of dry air to overcome for any appreciable rain chances. We will slight chances of POPs Wednesday through Thursday but any rainfall will be very light if measurable. Mostly dry weather conditions will continue through the end of the week. By Thursday, an upper level ridge will build in from the Midwest into the Ohio Valley with more very warm and dry weather expected. High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s to low 80s during the short term period. && .LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY/... The end of the week and weekend will bring summer like warm weather with no rainfall insight. An upper level ridge will build in over the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley by the weekend. Temperatures will warm up into the low to upper 80s across the area this weekend. The next potential rain maker may arrive with a cold front by early next week. && .AVIATION /18Z Monday THROUGH Saturday/... VFR across the TAF sites this afternoon with primarily VFR to persist through the TAF period. A brief period of non-VFR vsbys are possible at TOL overnight in patchy fog, though confidence is low. Otherwise, an increase in high cloud cover is expected to arrive from the southeast tonight into Tuesday. Winds are generally out of the east to southeast this afternoon, around 10 knots. A lake breeze will shift winds at CLE/ERI towards the northeast by mid-afternoon. Winds will favor an east to southeast direction overnight into Tuesday. Another lake breeze is expected to shift winds towards the northeast at CLE/ERI by Tuesday afternoon. Outlook...Primarily VFR expected through Saturday. Low confidence in some non-VFR ceilings Wednesday night into Thursday as the remnants of potential tropical cyclone eight pass to our east. && .MARINE... Overall the weather will remain quiet and nice boating conditions will continue through the end of the week on Lake Erie. High pressure will remain in control or nearby for most of this week. Generally Easterly to Northeasterly winds 10 to 15 knots will continue through this week and waves of 1 to 3 feet are expected. Winds will shift more from the south or southeast 5 to 10 knots by the end of the week and weekend. We are not expecting any marine headlines at this time. && .CLE WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
