Survey Summary:

A downburst containing peak estimated wind speeds of 70 mph
occurred in and around Hughesville during the late afternoon of
June 22, 2024. Several hundred trees were damaged/destroyed, while
at least 4 small greenhouses were crushed. Additionally, at least
a few homes and businesses had their metal roofing torn off along
with several homes sustaining damage due to fallen trees. Numerous
power poles and lines were broken and pulled down as well. Substantial

were damaged or broken. There were also several branches found penetrating
into the ground up to 4 to 5 inches with some trees missing nearly all
of their branches.

We would like to thank spotter Eli Roberts for his detailed assessment
