Survey Summary:
This summary has been updated to extend the track to the southeast
based on additional aerial imagery provided to the NWS. An EF0
tornado was on the ground for about 2 minutes from 3:33 PM to 3:35
PM on Aug 31, 2024 in Greenville Township, Somerset County. Max
estimated winds 85 mph.

The tornado touched down on the NW side of the 200 block of
Rembold Rd in Meyersdale, Greenville Township, Somerset County. It
uprooted a tree and downed several limbs before crossing Rembold
Rd and destroying a medium sized barn with one corner of the barn
still standing. Several trees near the barn were also uprooted.
The tornado then continued southeast across several fields of
crops and a few rows of trees, leaving behind a narrow swath of
crop and tree damage tracing out the tornado track. The damage
swath ends about 275 yards east of McKenzie Hollow Rd.

Two witnesses say they saw a tornado from nearby residences. Video
shows the tornado briefly produced a condensation funnel.

We thank the Somerset County Department of Emergency Services,
weather spotters, and local residents for their assistance in this
