Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
1032 AM EDT Sat Jun 29 2024

Warmer and much more humid air will prevail across the Keystone
state today into the first part of Sunday.

Showers and thunderstorms will become much more widespread on
this afternoon into this evening. Some storms will likely become
severe with a threat for localized damaging wind gusts and even a
few brief tornadoes across Central and Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Torrential downpours will accompany the thunderstorms with storm
total rainfall by early Sunday ranging between 0.75 and 1.5
inches on average. Localized excessive amounts of up to 3 inches
are possible where several storms move over the same locations.
This could lead to Flash Flooding.

Temperatures this afternoon will range from the mid 70s over the
North-Central Mountains to the mid and upper 80s in the Southern
Valleys.

Showers and Thunderstorms will diminish in areal coverage by late
tonight with lingering clouds and abundant moisture leading to
very mild overnight lows in the mid 60s to mid 70s along with
some areas of fog.

A cold front will move east and south of the area by late Sunday,
bringing in less humid air.
