National Weather Service State College PA
1119 PM EDT Wed Jun 19 2024

High pressure off the East Coast will continue to direct unusually
hot and humid air into the state for the rest of this week and
into the weekend.

Tonight will be mainly dry, with the exception of a few
thunderstorms in northwestern Pennsylvania. Patchy fog is possible
late tonight. Low temperatures will range from the upper 60s to
low 70s.

Expect temperatures to rise back into the upper 80s to mid 90s
across the Commonwealth on Thursday. Scattered thunderstorms are
in the forecast for the northern tier of Pennsylvania on
Thursday, mainly in the afternoon and evening. A few storms may
contain damaging wind gusts. Heat and humidity will continue on
Friday with more numerous showers and storms expected. The heat
and humidity will combine to push the heat index close to 100
degrees across the southern half of Pennsylvania Friday and
possibly through the weekend.
