...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN ST. LOUIS AND
NORTHERN LAKE COUNTIES THROUGH 615 AM CDT...

At 542 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Birch Lake, or 10 miles south of Ely, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Babbitt, southern Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Fall Lake,
Birch Lake, White Iron Lake, Snowbank Lake, Basswood Lake, Ensign
Lake, Hudson Lake, Bald Eagle Lake, Alice Lake, Gabbro Lake, Ojibway
Lake, Farm Lake, Lake Two, Disappointment Lake, Greenstone Lake, Lake
Three, and Thomas Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 AM CDT for
northeastern Minnesota.
