...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Iowa...

  West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville affecting Emmet County.

.Moderate to major flooding is expected along the West Fork Des
Moines River. These crest forecasts may approach the flood of record
at some locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation through Sunday morning.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville, or from the
  Iowa-Minnesota border to near Wallingford.

* WHEN...From this morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.5 feet, Water affects residences along W 1st St
  north and south of Iowa 9...and along Valley Dr.
  At 15.0 feet, Several evacuations and road closures may occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 10.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.9
    feet early Sunday morning. This forecast crest would be the
    second highest crest in history for this location and would
    surpass the crest of 15.6 ft set in April of 1965 as well as
    the the crest of 15.4 ft set in June of 1993.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
