...The National Weather Service in Des Moines IA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...

  West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville affecting Emmet County.

.These forecasts are highly dependent on forecast rainfall amounts
on today and Saturday, therefore the crest values are conditional on
the forecast rainfall occurring.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation until 7pm Sunday.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...
...REPLACES RIVER FLOOD WATCH...

* WHAT...High confidence in at least Minor Flood Stage. Major
  flooding is forecast, but is dependent on where the highest
  rainfall amounts accumulate. Therefore, confidence is lower for
  Major Flooding, at this time.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville, or from the
  Iowa-Minnesota border to near Wallingford.

* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding occurs
  particularly over the parkland areas near the river.
  At 14.5 feet, Water affects residences along W 1st St north and
  south of Iowa 9...and along Valley Dr.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 9.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 14.5 feet
    early Sunday morning. It will then rise to 14.6 feet early
    Thursday afternoon. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
