Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
332 AM CDT Mon Jun 10 2024

Today:

It was another quiet night across Iowa as high pressure slid gradually
through the Missouri River Valley. Skies were generally clear although
a few clouds moved through northeast Iowa. Winds were light from the
north at 5 to 10 mph with early morning temperatures mostly in the
50s.

Pleasant conditions are expected throughout the state today with low
humidity and temperatures mostly in the 70s to low 80s. Winds will be
lighter today as well with a northeast wind at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight and beyond:

A front approaches Iowa on Tuesday with increasing southwest winds
ahead of the boundary. This pushes warmer air into the state with a
chance of showers and storms, mainly across northern Iowa. Heat builds
into the middle of the week with highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s on
Wednesday and Thursday. Storms remain in the forecast for Wednesday in
northern Iowa and statewide on Thursday. Slightly cooler and drier
weather is expected to return on Friday.
