The first area is associated with a weak disturbance moving over far southeast Iowa, while another area of precipitation is moving into northwest Iowa in concert with approaching low pressure system. In between, skies are partly to mostly cloudy with temperatures ranging from the mid 40s to low 60s. Patchy fog has also developed, dropping visibility to a mile or less in a few locations. Isolated to scattered shower activity continues through the day, mainly over the western into central Iowa. Afternoon highs will be similar to Monday and top out around 70 degrees under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Tonight and Beyond: The forecast dries out through the middle of the week as sunshine helps push high temperatures back into the mid to upper 70s. Precipitation chances increase late week and into the weekend as moisture from a remnant tropical system is pulled north and west into the region. Considerable uncertainty remains at this time range due to the unusual pattern evolution expected, however the most likely areas to see rainfall will be over the southeastern half of the state. $$
