Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
244 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

Today:

Quiet conditions are in place over the state as we move into the
early morning hours. Patchy fog has developed once again in a few
areas, dropping visibility to a mile or less at times. Otherwise
skies are mostly clear with temperatures in the mid 40s to mid
50s, which is right around average for this time of year.

Plentiful sunshine is on tap for today. Light north winds will do
little to pull back temperatures as highs push into the 70s to near
80 degrees.

Tonight and Beyond:

Abundant sunshine is expected again on Thursday, and the forecast for
late week into the weekend is trending drier as moisture associated
with the remnants of a tropical system will largely remain south of
the state. A few light showers are still possible in southeast Iowa,
but most will only see an increase in cloud cover. Highs remain near
80 degrees through the weekend.
