URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...CRITICAL FIRE DANGER EXPECTED TODAY...

.Wind speeds are expected to increase across western areas of New
Mexico Friday as a weather system approaches from the west.
Southwesterly winds of 15 to 20 mph will be common during the
afternoon and evening hours. These winds will combine with very
hot and dry conditions resulting in an increase in fire danger
across the Gila region in Southwest New Mexico.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM MDT
THIS EVENING FOR THE GILA REGION, FOR VERY DRY AND MARGINALLY
WINDY CONDITIONS...

* WIND...Southwest 15-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

* HUMIDITY...6 to 9 percent lowlands and 8 to 11 percent
  mountains.

* EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...4 to 5 Near Critical to Critical

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
