Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

deaths occur in vehicles.

  water to approach some structurs on the eastern edge of Luverne.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this afternoon to a crest of 17.7 feet just after midnight
    tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday
    morning.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Vermillion River near Vermillion.

* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Water reaches the bottom deck of the
  railroad bridge west of Vermillion. Flood waters are 10 feet deep
  in some farm houses, and the terminal grain corporation is flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 14.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this afternoon and continue rising to 30.0 feet Tuesday
    morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
