...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and south central Nebraska,
  including the following counties, in east central Nebraska, York.
  In south central Nebraska, Clay, Fillmore and Hamilton.

* WHEN...Until 1130 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 529 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    already occurring across portions of Highway 6 and there is
    minor street flooding in the town of Sutton. Between 1.5 and
    2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    York, Sutton, Henderson, McCool Junction, Grafton, Saronville
    and Lushton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
