This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Late This Afternoon and Tonight.

Through around sunset, a very isolated, spotty thunderstorm or two
cannot be ruled out mainly in far western parts of the area,
mainly west of a line from Lexington Nebraska to Plainville
Kansas. Should any storms develop, they are not expected to be
severe.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring our first truly hot weather of
the year. On Wednesday afternoon, heat index readings could
approach 100 degrees in various parts of both our Nebraska and
Kansas areas. Then on Thursday afternoon, parts of north central
Kansas, along with mainly Thayer County in Nebraska are forecast
to solidly reach heat index of 100 to near 105 degrees.

Between late Wednesday afternoon and Thursday night, there are
low-end chances of thunderstorms, and some of these may be
marginally severe with large hail and strong winds. Portions of
our Nebraska area are in a Marginal Risk for severe weather for
late Wednesday afternoon and evening, and on Thursday a Marginal
Risk is currently in place from roughly Interstate 80 southward
into north central Kansas.

Friday through Monday, thunderstorm chances will continue with
the highest chances Friday night. While it is too soon to
confidently assess any details regarding severe thunderstorm
potential, a few severe storms certainly cannot be ruled out.
