...NWS Damage Survey for 08/22/24 Straight-Line Wind and Tornado Event...

A cluster of storms formed in the late afternoon of August 22,
2024 in eastern Colorado followed by a larger supercell in the
early evening. The cluster of storms produced golf ball sized
hail, two tornadoes that did not impact any structures, and
straight-line winds of 110 MPH. The trailing supercell, when
collided with the tail of end of the first cluster of storms, also
produced straight-line winds around 105 MPH. Both straight-line
wind events caused damage to structures and trees.

Survey Summary:
Damage consisted of widespread tree damage at the Prairie Pines
Golf Club and the residential area to the west. A nearby
irrigation pivot was flipped and there was structural damage to a
farmstead to the north.
