Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains
National Weather Service Goodland KS
322 AM MDT Sat Sep 21 2024

High temperatures on Friday ranged from 90 to 95 degrees. No
precipitation was observed during the past 24 hours. A short period
of breezy southwest winds was observed during the late afternoon,
mainly over northwest Kansas and eastern Colorado where sustained
winds at 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph accompanied the
passage of an outflow boundary, a surge of rain cooled air
produced by distant showers and storms over portions of southeast
Colorado and southwest Kansas.

OUTLOOK... An upper level low will track eastward across the
Rockies and Central Plains this weekend, bringing cooler
temperatures and widespread measurable rain to the region. The
majority of rainfall is expected to occur this evening through
mid-day Sunday. Some locations could see an inch or more of
rainfall, mainly south and east of Goodland. A clearing trend will
follow, Sunday night into Monday.
