This was due largely to warmer low temperatures, which were nearly a degree above the 30-year average. This was one of the few times in the last 30 years where the warmest temperature during the season occurred in March or April instead of May. In fact, since 1990, the only times this has happened have been 1990, 1995, 1999, 2011, 2017 and now 2020.
