A hot afternoon was ongoing across the Plains with temperatures in
the 90s and 100s area wide. Factoring in the humidity, heat index
values up to 106 degrees were noted as of 430 PM.

Scattered showers and storms will continue to develop across the
higher terrain and Northern Plains this evening. Additional storms
are possible overnight into Tuesday morning across our area.
Better chances for storms arrive Tuesday afternoon and evening as
a weak cold front sinks into Kansas. Prior to its arrival, another
hot and humid afternoon is expected with temperatures near 100
and heat index values as high as 110.
