Tropical heat and humidity will remain over central and southeast IL through Saturday. Heat indices will reach 99 to 104 this afternoon, upper 90s to around 100 Tuesday afternoon and the mid to upper 90s Wednesday through Saturday, with some areas reaching near 100. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and early evening, and again on Tuesday especially in eastern IL Tuesday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon from the IL river northwest. Breezy south winds today and Tuesday, will bring good to very good ventilation rates to the area. Fair to good vent rates are expected on Wednesday as south to southwest winds will not be as breezy.
