Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
233 PM CDT Sun Sep 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...Patchy fog will be possible Monday and Tuesday
morning mainly across the southern districts. Ridging surface and
a loft will finally break down Monday as a shortwave trough and a
weak cold front approach from the northwest. Dry weather is
expected through Monday but low rain chances return to the
northwest Monday evening. Greater rain chances are expected
Tuesday into Wednesday the cold front stalls across the area.
going into the end of the week a closed low is expected to develop
to our northwest while a tropical system approaches from the
south. Model consensus suggests the tropical system will track
east of Mississippi and produce 2-3in of rain over the eastern
districts. Warmer than normal temperatures are expected to
continue through Tuesday night but cooler than normal temperatures
are expected Wednesday into the weekend.
