.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1045 AM EDT Sun Jun 23 2024

Another active radar this morning in the Florida Keys. Surface
winds across the reef have increased to 10 to 15 knots in the east
to southeast direction. Temperatures across the island chain have
been in the mid to upper 70s but as clouds disperse it is
expected to warm up to the upper 80s rapidly. Temperatures in the
Upper Keys have started to display this as they have warmed
around 4 degrees already since shower activity there has
diminished. Mid-level water vapor verifies the trough that is
being observed on RAOBs 12z sounding analysis is slightly sagging
towards our CWA and one of our big components in weather-making.
As for the rest of today and tonight, rain chances will remain
elevated although a lull in activity is starting to occur now, it
will become active once again tonight, similar to yesterday`s
pattern. No changes to the forecast are necessary at this time.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1045 AM EDT Sun Jun 23 2024

There are no watches, warnings, or advisories in effect for the
Florida Keys coastal waters. From synopsis, high pressure over the
western Atlantic and low pressure over the Bay of Campeche will
maintain gentle to moderate east to southeast breezes across the
Keys coastal waters, becoming light to gentle tonight through
Monday evening. The western Atlantic ridge will settle southward
into the Florida Straits during the middle and later part of the
week, with light southwest to west breezes prevailing over the
Keys waters.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 1045 AM EDT Sun Jun 23 2024

Shower and thunderstorm activity in the vicinity of both island
terminals has waned over the past couple of hours. VCSH has been
removed from the TAFs for much of this afternoon. However,
recharging of the atmosphere by late this afternoon or evening
warrants inclusion of another line of VCSH in the TAFs beginning
around 00z. Uncertainty for the timing and location of the next
round of convection is very high, and short-term amendments will be
issued as needed based on radar trends. Near surface winds will be
variable early, becoming east to southeasterly at 6 to 10 knots.
