.NOW...
Through 1 pm, an outflow boundary extends from the offshore Gulf
waters south into the Straits of Florida south of the western Lower
Keys. As this boundary continues propagating to the west near 10
knots, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to
wax and wane along the boundary as well as train. Most of this
activity was moving to the east near 5 knots or less with the
activity over the offshore Gulf waters and the distant Straits of
Florida moving east at 10 to 15 knots. Mariners encountering the
stronger portions of this activity near the Middle and Lower Keys can
expect pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall reducing visibilities
to lower than 1 mile, wind gusts up to near 30 knots, and frequent
lightning strikes. Island communities can expect up to an additional
half to one inch of rainfall with an additional a few hundreths to
few tenths of an inch for Vaca Key. Locally heavier rainfall amounts
are possible, especially across Key West where several inches of
rainfall are anticipated. The more vigorous activity will be covered
with Special Marine Warnings.
