This morning, lows remained on the mild side as strong southerly
winds persisted across the area. Values only reached the 60s which
is nearly 10 degrees above normal. Scattered thunderstorms
departed north central Nebraska quickly after sunrise.

For today, expect a very hot and dry day. Afternoon highs will
climb into the 90s to near 100 for portions of southwest Nebraska.
Though heat advisories are not anticipated, the dangerous heat
will be hazardous to persons with prolonged exposure and without
adequate protections.
