Thunderstorms brought severe winds to western Nebraska and
beneficial rainfall measuring up to one-half inch in spots across
the southern Sandhills and southwest Nebraska last night. A few
remnant rain showers wrapped up this morning across north central
Nebraska. Morning lows ranged from near 50 in the panhandle to mid
60s north central.

A front draped across the region today will separate dry and
breezy conditions in the far west from warm and relatively humid
to the east. Critical fire weather is anticipated for portions of
northwest Nebraska this afternoon. Highs today will generally be
in the 80s and lows tonight in the 50s.
