...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN RAPIDES...NORTHERN
BEAUREGARD AND VERNON PARISHES...SOUTHEASTERN TYLER...CENTRAL
NEWTON...NORTHEASTERN HARDIN AND EAST CENTRAL JASPER COUNTIES THROUGH
430 PM CDT...

At 355 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Merryville, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
De Ridder, Jasper, Leesville, Newton, Kirbyville, Rosepine,
Merryville, Singer, Town Bluff, Sugartown, Slagle, Call, Fred, Fort
Johnson, Bon Weir, Pitkin, Fields, New Llano, Trout Creek, and
Bivens.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
