415 FZUS61 KCLE 230227 GLFLE Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie National Weather Service Cleveland OH 1027 PM EDT Sun Sep 22 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A weak low of 29.90 inches drifts eastward from southeastern Lower Michigan to western New York through Monday. This will allow a warm front to sweep northeastward across Lake Erie tonight and the trailing cold front to sweep eastward across the lake on Monday. Behind the cold front, a trough averaging 29.95 inches lingers over Lake Erie. A separate low of 27.70 inches should move northeastward from near the Lower Ohio Valley and through the central Great Lakes on Tuesday through Wednesday. This should allow a warm front to sweep northeastward across Lake Erie on Tuesday and the trailing cold front to sweep eastward across the lake Tuesday night into Wednesday. Behind this second cold front, a ridge averaging 30.30 inches should build from the Upper Midwest through Friday.
