821 FZUS63 KMKX 260202 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 902 PM CDT Tue Jun 25 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Winds have become lighter and veered to the west and northwest this evening behind the cold front. There were some thunderstorm risks this evening but those storms have dissipated with no further development expected. Winds will shift to the north later tonight into Wednesday, becoming gusty at times. Lighter winds return later Wednesday night into Thursday night, as high pressure around 30.0 inches shifts across the region. Increasing south winds are then forecast for Friday, becoming southwest to west on Saturday, as a cold front moves through the region. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase during this period.
