327 FZUS63 KMKX 221347 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 847 AM CDT Sun Sep 22 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Low pressure around 29.7 inches has lifted into Ontario. A trailing cold front will push southeastward across Lake Michigan this morning into this afternoon, with widespread showers and thunderstorms ahead of and along this front. Southwesterly winds will become northerly behind the front this afternoon into tonight. Winds are expected to become gusty, with gusts up to 30 knots expected and an occasional gale force gust possible. The potential for gale force gusts is higher in the southern half. Winds diminish into Monday as high pressure builds in across the Great Lakes region, but the northerly component will persist through Tuesday.
