017 FZUS61 KBUF 220228 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 1028 PM EDT Sat Sep 21 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A weak 29.8 inch trough will move across the lower Great Lakes overnight. A weak 30.0 inch ridge will then build across the lower Great Lakes Sunday. A cold front will then move from the upper Great Lakes Sunday to the lower Great Lakes Monday, where it will stall through the middle of next week. Several weak 29.8 inch lows will move along the stalled front Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday low pressure will exit into New England while a 30.2 inch high builds across Lake Superior.
