923 FZUS61 KBUF 220757 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 357 AM EDT Sun Sep 22 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A weak 29.8 inch trough will exit east of the Lake this morning to be followed by a weak 30.0 inch ridge of high pressure that will build across the Lower Lakes today. A cold front will then approach the Lake late tonight and Monday, where it will stall through the middle of next week. Several weak 29.8 inch lows will move along the stalled front Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday low pressure will exit into New England while a 30.2 inch high builds across Lake Superior.
