081 FNUS56 KLOX 232154 FWFLOX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 254 PM PDT Mon Sep 23 2024 ...WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS AWAY FROM THE COAST THROUGH THE WEEKEND, WARMEST THROUGH TUESDAY... .DISCUSSION... A slight offshore wind influence each morning will bring warming and drying to areas away from the coast through Tuesday, with highs in the 90s to around 100 common. Humidity levels will fall between 10 and 20 percent over the driest valleys and mountains. With the warming temperatures, mixing heights are expected to increase to between 8,000 to 12,000 feet across the interior each afternoon, capable of moderate vertical plume growth on any new fires. Small changes expected to follow through the rest of the week. Weaker than normal diurnal winds expected, except localized sundowner wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph near Gaviota/Refugio Wednesday and Thursday evenings. A shallow marine layer will be focused along the coast.
