Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 29.9 inch high pressure ridge extending from
northern Manitoba to Lower Michigan will drift east, extending
from Hudson Bay to the Lower Great Lakes by Friday evening.
Meanwhile, 29.4 inch low pressure organizing over the Dakotas
overnight will lift northeast, reaching southeast Manitoba Friday
night. An associated 29.6 inch trough will sweep across Lake
Superior during Friday night and early Saturday morning. In its
wake, a 29.9 inch high pressure will build northeast into the
western Great Lakes region on Saturday. The high will shift
toward New England on Sunday as the next low pressure of 29.4
inches lifts northeast to southern Wisconsin. This low will deepen
to 29.3 inches as it tracks to near the Straits of Mackinac by
Monday morning and then to near James Bay by Tuesday morning. In
its wake, 30.2 inch high pressure will build over the Plains on
Tuesday.

midnight, then becoming west 15 to 25 knots late. A chance of

3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet, then subsiding to 2 to
