814 FZUS63 KMQT 110801 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 401 AM EDT Tue Jun 11 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.0 inch high pressure currently centered over the Upper Great Lakes this morning will continue to drift southeast toward the lower lakes through early this afternoon. A 29.5 inch low pressure system near Lake Manitoba this morning will move to near James Bay by Wednesday evening, dragging a 29.6 inch trough over Lake Superior Thursday morning. 30.1 inch ridging moves into the High Plains late Thursday into Friday, becoming centered over Lake Superior on Friday afternoon. High pressure builds to 30.2 inches and moves over the central Great Lakes Saturday. This high will continue shifting east toward New England on Sunday as troughing sets up west of Lake Superior.
