...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday)
Issued at 202 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

High temperatures will be slightly cooler today in the wake of a
cold front, topping out near seasonal averages in the low-to-mid
80s. Broad high pressure to the northeast will allow for clear skies
and light northeasterly winds to persist into this evening. Light
winds will turn clockwise and become westerly by Thursday morning as
the high moves further away from our area. However, sunny skies will
continue tomorrow and slightly higher upper level heights will allow
for high temperatures to be a few degrees warmer than today.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through next Tuesday)
Issued at 202 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

The forecast area will remain just downstream from an upper level
ridge over the Four Corners region through the forecast period with
northerly mid to upper level flow helping to keep moisture levels
and thus precip chances low. 500 mb geopotential heights about 590
dam will keep daytime temperatures on the warm side while the dry
air and light winds will help overnight lows fall to near normal
levels each morning.
