852 FNUS54 KLUB 311951 FWFLUB Fire Weather Planning Forecast for the South Plains Area National Weather Service Lubbock TX 251 PM CDT Fri May 31 2024 .DISCUSSION... Thunderstorms are expected to move into the South Plains and far southern Texas Panhandle this evening and overnight. Frequent cloud- to-ground lightning and gusty and erratic winds will be the primary threat with this activity. Tomorrow will be very similar to today with surface moisture remaining across the forecast area keeping afternoon relative humidity values above 30 percent. Southerly to southeasterly winds will be slightly stronger tomorrow afternoon with sustained winds of 15-20 mph however with the higher humidity values fire weather concerns will remain low. Additional thunderstorms will be possible tomorrow evening with lightning and winds being the main hazard.
